Connect your HTTPS WordPress site with an application password, upload an article and its section images, then review and publish in WordPress. This workflow is available in the hosted workspace.
Connection requirements
Use your WordPress login username and an application password for a user allowed to edit posts and upload media. Your site must expose an accessible HTTPS REST API. The label you give the application password is not the username; use the separate application password rather than your dashboard password.
The supported workflow is self-hosted WordPress. A successful connection check verifies access; it does not upload or publish an article. Revoke the application password from WordPress when you no longer want the connection.
Draft upload and publication are separate steps
- Review the saved ContentPin article, section images and destination website.
- Upload it as a WordPress draft. ContentPin sends the article and its matching media.
- Open the returned editor link, check formatting and images, then publish or schedule from WordPress.
- Return to that article in ContentPin. When WordPress reports the post as published, ContentPin checks and saves its real public URL and opens the corresponding Pin Studio.
A draft editor URL is not the public destination for your Pins. If the post is still a draft or scheduled for later, wait for it to become public and check again. You can use the manual publication check when returning does not trigger it.
What has been verified
The draft-upload and post-publication handoff have been checked in the hosted workflow. A published neutral-bedroom article was used to verify that returning from WordPress checks the post, saves its permalink and opens the right Pin Studio without creating another post.
ContentPin does not publish the WordPress post for you. Taxonomy selection and WordPress-native scheduling are handled in your WordPress dashboard. Pinterest publication has its own permission requirements and current limitation.
If the connection or upload fails
Check the site URL, username, application password and user permissions first. A security plugin or host may block REST API authentication or media uploads. Review the saved draft/upload status before retrying; contact support with the displayed error, never with a password.
