Connect your self-hosted WordPress site

Use an application password, check the right username and review a draft before publication.

  1. In WordPress, open Users → Profile → Application Passwords. Give the new password a recognizable name, such as ContentPin Studio.
  2. Use your WordPress login username with that application password. The name you give the application password is not your username.
  3. In the workspace, choose the intended website and enter its HTTPS address and credentials. Verify the connection before uploading content.
  4. Review the article title, section images and links. Create a WordPress draft, then open it in WordPress and check the result.
  5. After publishing, use the actual public article link for Pins. A draft editor URL is not a visitor destination.

Application passwords can be revoked from your WordPress profile. A 401 response can mean an incorrect username/password, missing permissions or a server/security rule blocking API authentication.
